False Identification. Chapter 2.
Superimposition
The desire not to die has its deep roots in the real self,
which is deadless.
The search for happiness has its deep roots in the real self,
which is pure happiness.
The desire for freedom has its deep roots in the real self,
which is the only unconditioned existence.
When these are supposed to come from objects,
there is superimposition
of the characteristic
of the one upon the other.
Objects of consciousness can never be separated
from Consciousness itself.
They have no independent existence.
They are therefore nothing else as Consciousness.
